Youtube and their new copyright crackdown.

### The Purpose #### I made this simple video with nothing but text as I want youtube and all parties who it may concern to get this message as clear as possible Myself and other youtube members are very unhappy with this sudden crackdown on "copyright" which has affected a vast majority of videos. The affect ranges from audio been muted (even in SOME "music" videos) all the way up to videos been removed completely! Now I'm not sure exactly how much of it is actual artists/record companies and how much of this is youtube but the message is clear... Youtube is a great way to advertise your music/videos. By simply editing/removing our videos we spend time you won't all of a sudden cure piracy, and infact in the long run you may even lose fans and revenue! #### The Solution #### So to youtube, I ask that either you change your site design to something that isn't as easy to rip music from as flash, or at least allow some exceptions when its pretty obvious the idea of the video isn't to steal a song and let people listen to it and to the record producers/artists I ask that you treat youtube as a way of marketing your music and realise how unhappy your "fans" (at least those who use youtube) who pay for your luxurious lifestyle are with how we are been treated. I know times maybe financially hard but do you really think removing any chance of people been able to hear your music will increase your sales? If people can't hear your newest hits then how are they going to know to buy them? Do you really think the people who want your song bad enough and don't wish to support your music can't get hold of it? The only people this new crackdown is hurting is yourselves as people will be pushed away from youtube to other popular media sites, and pushed to other bands who allow people to at the very least listen to their songs so they know what they are like #### What can we do? #### My simple idea is to simply add this vieo to your favorites, I'd dont care about ratings or views I just want youtube to realise how many people are unhappy with their new strictness regarding "copyright" and hope they do something or at least compromise before its too late #### Final words #### (I know google owns youtube) Remember that yahoo/msn used to be the main search engines until google came along.. Changes happen and it wouldn't suprise me if people took advantage of this and tried launching their own media uploading sites until youtube became almost obsolete Thank you for taking the time to read this long wall of text, and I just hope together we can do something about this problem, Please tell your friends about this also if they feel the same way as the more people we can get together the better our chances are.
